How To Modify Your Facebook |
If your anything like me then you will know that Facebook is becoming more and more cluttered as it goes on. Today i found the site full of unwanted items. Things i don't need, wont need or ever use. I see all the time my friends complaining about how its changed again. Well instead of complaining i decided to do something about it. Using the help of a browser extension; a browser extension is a computer program that extends the functionality of a web browser in some way. i have managed to make my Facebook go from this:

into something a lot like the old Facebook

So your probably thinking this is got to be hard right? well actually no not really. The hard work has already been done by me. All you need to do is follow the instructions below and you too could have a clean and friendly Facebook.
1 - Download Social Fixer for Your Browser (Click Here)
2 - Once Installed go to Facebook and Login
3 - when the wizard appears click cancel
4 - Once this is done click on the icon in the top right corner and select options and go to Styles CSS
5 - Copy and Paste the code from the file stored here
6 - Click on Advance and look for the option Hide Right Column and paste the following in: ;Sponsored;;People you may know;Rate Films;Rate TV Shows;Recommended Pages;Games You May Like;Play It Again;Add a Location to Your Photos;Rate Recently Used Apps;Close Friends Suggestions;Add to Films;Rate These Places
7 - Select the next option down and paste this: Groups Section,Lists Section,Interests Section,Pages Section,Games Feed,My name and picture
6 - Click on Advance and look for the option Hide Right Column and paste the following in: ;Sponsored;;People you may know;Rate Films;Rate TV Shows;Recommended Pages;Games You May Like;Play It Again;Add a Location to Your Photos;Rate Recently Used Apps;Close Friends Suggestions;Add to Films;Rate These Places
7 - Select the next option down and paste this: Groups Section,Lists Section,Interests Section,Pages Section,Games Feed,My name and picture
Once this has been entered click save and refresh the page (Press Ctrl + F5) when the page loads you will see all of Facebook's content disappear right in-front of you. once all the above is entered your facebook should look like this.

Now you can change the rest of the settings in social fixer. Please take the time to look at the other options and see how they work. Everything is explained on the social fixer page. If you like the modification please share this blog so others can change it too.

I have had a few people say that there Facebook doesn't look quite like the images i have above after following the instructions. This is because there are more advance settings that's being used to make it look that way. If you feel you can do this then feel free to do so. To make it like mine you will need to click on the spanner icon in the top right corner. click options and go to User Preferences. Here you will see a white box where you can enter your own instructions. Doing this will wipe anything you have done previously however this does already include whats been done above but any additional options you had chosen will get wiped.
In this Section you need to paste the the contents of the following file and click the import button
Once complete click save and refresh your page. You should then see a very tidy original looking Facebook.
A good feature i would recommend is the Filter section. I use this to filter my news feed making it easier to read post As you can see from the example below its a nice and easy way of viewing your feeds in a much simpler way.
None of the filters have been set only standard games in Facebook will auto tab you will need to do this yourself in the Filtering options on social fixer. However there are some filters i have set up all ready. If you wish to have your feeds like +Minions etc auto tab then in the process above if you also add the text from this file as well onto the end of the file above and then import you will get filters like mine

There have been changes from Facebook recently so i thought i would post a fix to this on the bottom of here. You will notice recently that under certain posts when you like them it will offer other people page's to like. If your like me i don't want this. So after a bit of tinkering around i found a way of removing this. Just like above, go to the Style (CSS) Tab. At the bottom of the existing code add the contents from this file
Once you have added this click save and refresh your page. you should go from something like this:

How to Jailbreak an IPOD Touch 8gb 2Gen
8GB 2nd Gen 4.2.1 Jailbreak
I have recently bought an iPod Touch, was second hand i paid £60.00 for it which is a reasonable price. When i got it home i found to my dismay that i cannot install any apps onto from the app store as the firmware was out of date an to find online this device cannot be updated any further so how do i add apps like Facebook to my iPod Touch. Well after 6hrs an endless Google searches reading guides i was able to do it. I have found many things on various different websites so i have written this blog not only to offer the downloads i found but to keep them all in one place. So first of all here's the files you need:
This is all that you will need to jailbreak your iPod.
The greenpois0n has instructions on what to o to install the jailbreak. Once this is one you will find an app on your home screen called loader. Select this an choose the option to install Cydia.
Once this has installed and completed all its updates you will need to reopen cydia and select the Manage tab. From here select sources this will give you a list of sources that cydia runs from click the edit button on the top right and then add on the top left. this will ask you for a web address here type in :
http://cydia.hackulo.us
Once this source has been added click on the search item and type in Appsync 4.x install this.
Once you have one all of the above you can add any .ipa file through itunes without it producing an error. So now to the reason why i did all this to install facebook. After endless searching i have found a version of Facebook that will work on the 4.2.1 if anyone's interested
once you have downloaded this you will be able to install it irectly from itunes. If you have already a version of Facebook it will ask you to replace it, say yes an there you go Facebook re-installed on your ios 4.2.1
