After using both +AmazonPrimeTV and +Netflix for some time I thought I would give my own review on them.

First of all lets look at the platforms these services are available on. Its always best to look at this first when trying to decide what to get, After all if it wont work on the device you want there's no point in getting it.

Here is a comparison table of the platforms Amazon Prime and Netflix are usable on:

As you can see Amazon Prime lacks in the platform department, I am aware that amazon also has the Fire TV, But Netflix is also available on this stick so offers nothing extra here.

So lets look at the price and what it involves

Amazon Prime Price

From what i can tell this is all they offer, there doesn't seem to be many conditions set out, I used Amazon Prime on an Xbox One and Xbox 360 as well as a web browser. They worked Okay, What i can say is you don't get access to everything on this, I will talk more about that further down.

Netflix Price

As you can see i use the 2nd plan which is £7.49 a month or £89.88 for 12 months, however there are 3 plans to choose from depending on your household requirements.

Now, what do you get out of these 2 streaming services in terms of what is available to watch. This area i'm sorry to say Amazon lack in. When i first got Amazon i found it hard to find anything to watch that was made after 2010, although since then more has been added i still believe this not to be value for money.

Not only is their selection rather low you will find certain TV Shows you will watch so many episodes and then told you have to pay more money to carry on watching the rest. (An example is Ben 10 - My kid loves this and was highly disappointed over this) Other shows such as TopGear are the same.

This is; in my opinion very poor on amazons part, Even if you took Netflix first plan at £5.99 a month / £71.88 a Year you will get everything on Netflix available to watch.I found that Netflix has most of what amazon have, obviously apart from Prime exclusives and the odd older TV Shows Such as walking dead TV series.

Over the past year i have experience numerous issues with the app constantly losing connection, reporting App issues and having to wait over 24hrs for it to start working again or just randomly saying there's a problem and closes the app, something which i have not yet experienced on Netflix.

However its not all doom and gloom for amazon, the 1 thing that does work in their favor is how easy it is to use, its broken down into Movies, Kids and TV Shows and from there you can then search by Genre, trending/popular, new added.

Now Netflix also has this but i found Netflix a little more difficult to use on the Xbox One, As you watch things the category's offered changed which is good if you only watch one type of film/TV Show, An example of this is after watching a few stand up comedy shows i could not find the Sc-Fi & Fantasy category at all, even using the search feature, Before i watched a few comedy films i was able to see this category. I understand Netflix is geared around the user and tailors whats on offer but i really think Netflix should also include an 'Browse All' feature or something to that nature.

All in all i think we shall be keeping Netflix moving forward, however Amazon Prime i don't think we shall be. In our opinion they are not value for money. Here is our overall rating:

ScreenShots

I have included some screenshots of amazon and Netflix, i had to take Netflix on the phone as they don't allow screenshots but amazon app did, i also noticed if you have windows 10 and Xbox one you can stream Amazon Prime to your tablet or desktop.
