Around about 3 months ago i purchased a Samsung Tablet, This was a  convertible tablet allowing you to attach a keyboard and use it like a laptop. I have to say this tablet was horrendous there are so many things wrong with it i would be here all week, So naturally i sent it back. I then spent the next 2 months looking for something better.

about a week ago i finally received my choice. It is a +Sony  SVD112A1SM Hybrid Tablet. What this means is with its 11.6" Full HD IPS touch capacities screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution Intel HD 4000 (integrated) screen you can use it like any other tablet by simply using your fingers to use the device. However if you really need to get down to using a keyboard; lets say for writing blogs such as this, The screen flicks up and revels a stunning and well hidden keyboard. This takes away the need of carrying extra accessories. This nice and clever idea and by a simply flick on the screen creates an all round machine that can be used in any environment.

Weighing in at 1.3kg, it is a bit heavier than your models from Samsung which are around 0.75kg. this however is a small price to pay, The quality between the Samsung model which felt like it would break the min if anything touched it, and the feel of the +Sony which to me feels like a solid and well balance product. The over all size of the product will vary depending on the screen since. My 11.6" screen pushes my tablet to 18 x 320 x 199 mm (H x W x D), in comparison to the Samsung model which was a 10.1" screen; 9.9 x 304 x 189 mm (H x W x D) as you can see there's not that much of a difference. Both the Samsung and +Sony use +Windows8 64Bit, Both devices taking advantage of Microsoft surface or RT.

Being tile based its easy as pressing a button and your programs will ping to life. My model has a Intel Core i5 3317U (1. 1.70) dual - core processor with 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, and 128GB SSD Hardrive. This amount of power allows programs to come to life in a matter of seconds with minimal fuss or delay. The App Store allows you to add programs or games at a simply press of a button. However i would say the app store is not full of apps or games i believe there is still some improvement required in this area. Saying that this is not because of the device it self.

Over the course of the week I have been taking my tablet with me to work, testing out its battery life, usability on the move, and basically how practical it is. Is guess to start off with the screen size, While on the move i have had a lot of comments over its size, "Wow that's massive" has been the general comment from people. I guess if you was to buy this and use it every day a slightly smaller screen would be better however personally apart from having to carry it in a bag i don't believe the 11.6" hinders in regards to travel. My man bag holds this device nicely.

The battery life; the manufacture states with its 1-Cell Lithium Ion battery; approx 6.5 hrs. Like any product the more you use it the more battery it uses, personally I turn off all the non-essential items like +BLUETOOTH-open Wireless Technology 4 and adjust power and screen settings to turn off after so long, little bits like this i have noticed has extended the life of the battery. If for example i use this device on my way to work in my lunch and on my way home, Time equating to 2 hrs (not including standby time in-between using the device) i still have 3 quarters of battery left.based on these results you should be able to get approx 7 to 8 hrs from it. I have done a variety of things like play games, go on twitter chat to the Mrs on messenger all while using its Wi-Fi 802. 11n.

Additional things to add about this device; for example my device has NFC, Two ports USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA, Memory Stick Duo/SD memory card reader , 3.5mm headphone Socked, Ethernet port on the back; 2 x 1.3 MegapĂxeles Full HD with Sony CMOS Exmor R sensor. Two speakers with Dolby Home Theater v4. Integrated microphone and a nice White Back-lit keyboard.

This i have found to be more than most other devices, you can simply connect any device to it with simplicity and easy.

This concludes my review of this product i would give it the following rating:
Below is a few for images of the device to show off it's design. Click the images for a bigger view
